Have-a-Go Day

What a busy term we have had already. On the 2 November we went to Kieth Hay Park for
Have-a-go day. We had so much fun doing the different activities. The day was all about having a go and doing our best and not about winning. Our first game was Ki O Rahi, luckily we leant how to play this game in Term two. Here is a video of us playing Ki O Rahi.

After we had a quick bite to eat we went to Tri-Star Gymnasium. Working on some of the apparatuses were quite hard but we still tried our best.

Then we had to hurry to meet up with the coach for Ripper Rugby, we only had a quick drink this time.

Finally after that we were able to have lunch, wow we were hungry.

After lunch we went to play football. That was fun.

The last activity we did was a tug of war, our hands were so sore after that, but it was a lot of fun.

After a short Prize Giving where Zakariya won the prize for our school we took our tired bodies back to school. You can read a more detailed recount about the day on our individual blogs. Happy reading.

Emerald Elf

Wow here we are back again for the fourth term. We had a lovely surprise today when we found out that we actually came second again with our holiday reading logs. Ms Petrus didn't think we would get placed because two people did not return reading logs. Luck Room 14 won, with 100% holiday reading logs returned. That is a record. Well done Room 14.

Check out our stories on our individual blogs.

Duffy Assembly

Duffy Assembly

On Tuesday 11 September Leah Panapa, a radio host,  came to talk to the children of May Road School. She talked about how important books were in her life and about her love of horses and dogs.  Leah  also read a funny story about Piranhas  who don't eat bananas.
Some lucky children got their Duffy books presented to them by Leah. Then the rest of the children got their free Duffy Books in their classrooms. What a great surprise.

Please read the children's individual blogs to find out more.

The Emerald Elf

Today the Emerald Elf came to Room 13. She was wearing a green sparkly hat, green hair, big red glass, green dress, red belt, red and white striped pants and green shoes. The class was very, very very excited about  the Emerald Elf coming to Room 13. The whole class got a certificate but 2 people never came with there reading diaries. Emerald Elf came with a case with toys, pencils, pens, animal cards and note books. Emerald Elf was handing out certificates to all of the classes at May Road School.  When the Emerald Elf was handing out certificates we also got a toy, pencil, pen, notebook and a animal card. When I got my certificate I felt excited. Well Mrs Petrus thought that Room 13 is going to be in last place and second place but we actually came First. We were really excited we went crazy, that we were monkeys being silly and saying yay so loud that were monkeys saying ooaaooaaooaa so loud. When it was home time.  Fatafehi
